Welcome to S U N R O O M. We are a crew of artists and designers who care deeply for our craft, our clients, our community, and our earth. I am so happy you are here! I believe in the transformative power of connection: beauty with integrity, artistry and heart. My hope is to create a space that’s warm and inviting, filled with life, tranquility, beauty, and inspiration— a place to connect and recharge, to take a chance on something new or refresh the classic shape or color that you love. And I hope that when you leave here, and until we meet again, you carry with you that spark, that joy, that little bit of sunlight. xx Jesikah A NOTE ABOUT OUR SERVICES: All are welcome here! You may notice that I don’t list my haircut prices by gender, as is traditionally done, but by length. I believe this is more equitable and frankly just makes a lot more sense. SUSTAINABILITY: Some of the ways we care for the earth: We use AVEDA products and color. We use compostable, plant-based, single-use towels. We provide compostable, plant-based drinking glasses for our guests. We recycle foils and color tubes. ///// JESIKAH ORMAN, owner + stylist: Jesikah is an artist at heart: an intuitive and creative stylist who draws inspiration behind the chair from her many varied experiences traveling around the world, studying art, and being a part of a very close family. She started cutting her own hair at 12 years old and quickly began styling her friends and family—-something she saw as an artistic expression both then and now. She went on to study cosmetology at Aveda’s flagship school (Aveda Institute of Arts and Sciences Minneapolis) in 2003, followed by an apprenticeship at Roots Hair Salon in Chicago, advanced education at Bumble and Bumble in New York and over 20 years as a hairstylist in Chicago, Minneapolis, Connecticut and beyond. She also earned a BFA in Fiber and Material Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2008 which she draws upon for inspiration behind the chair and in curating the art gallery.
